Chinese and German Gulus Eye On the Future of China's Event Industry and Talent Development

November 7 (last Friday), Official Ceremony and International Symposium for the 10thAnniversary of IEMS was grandly held in Great Auditorium, Language & Information Center, Songjiang Campus of Shanghai University of International Business and Economics(SUIBE) to celebrate its cooperation with HS Osnabrueck (HSOS).


 

The one-day conference contained two parts: one for Official Ceremony of International Research Institute of Event Industry, and the other for the International Symposium. The VIP guests including Professor Nie Qing, Vice President of SUIBE, Professor Dr. Marie-Luise Rehn, Vice President of HSOS, Officials from Shanghai Education Commmission, Mr. Yuan Zaiqing, President of China Convention & Exhibitions Society, Ms. Sigrid Loens, Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), and Ms. Zeng Hongping, Official from German Consulate General were invited to the ceremony.

 

Then came the strategic cooperation signing ceremony and opening ceremony of International Research Institute of Event Industry.



After that, the International Symposium took the theme of “Changing Markets, Changing Needs: Where is the Chinese Event Industry Heading?”, with several VIP guests involved to address amazing keynote speeches. Mr. Mao Daben, Managing Director of VNU Exhibitions Asia Ltd was also invited to give a speech on “What kind of talents do we really need?”. During the afternoon panel discussions, all the guests together with the audience made an insightful research on China’s Outbound Event Business and the Future of Education in the Event Industry. Both the market potentials and talent development were the key topics for them to study.

 

During the lunch time, all the VIP guests made a visit to the German Cultural Week show.
